The Caring Circle provides care and support to congregants in time of need.
The Caring Circle is a group of UUCR Members who offer care and support to church congregants at times of major life changes such as illness, loss of a loved one, isolation or other personal life changes.
Caring Circle members are volunteers. They receive an orientation to pastoral care upon joining the Caring Circle and maintain confidentiality in their discussions and activities. They coordinate with external groups, such as local pastoral care networks, from which they gain knowledge, reference information, and points of contact. The Caring Circle does not replace the role of our church Minister or professional counselors. Rather, the Caring Circle supports congregants in collaboration with the Minister.
Members of the Caring Circle provide support in a number of ways, including:
Talk by phone
Meet with congregants in their homes or the hospital
Provide meals
Visit and be present with the congregant
Provide transportation to church or appointments
Help with grocery shopping
Assist in memorial services and receptions
For additional information or to request support, please contact our minister, Rev. Aileen Fitzke, at RevAileen@UUReston.org.
