The High School Youth program at UUCR provides a unique, enriching program for teens in 9th-12th grade. It emphasizes personal growth, leadership development, and community responsibility.
While all youth face change and growth, that experience is unique for every person. Working with teens requires a specialized approach to assist them in their search for personal development and truth. Our High School Youth program is grounded in the hopes and needs that young people encounter during this period of great transition. It is based on listening deeply and supporting each individual during their journey.
The program is fun and interesting and includes a variety of activities and interactions with other UUs and the community. Our youth are actively engaged in the planning of their programs and activities. The emphasis is on individual growth, building relationships within the UU community, and helping make the world a better place.

8th-10th GRADE AND COMING OF AGE
In 2024-2025, students in 8th-10th grade may choose to do a few special activities and celebrate their transition from childhood to older adolescence in a Coming of Age ceremony. Coming of Age is a special program that helps young people get to know themselves better, gain greater self-confidence, and develop tools for life.
