Films on Friday

Films on Friday is a beloved UUCR tradition - a fun and enlightening (and delicious!) event, hosted by Bill on the first Friday of most months. Do come join us for our continuing showings of independent or lesser-seen “moving pictures.’’ Come watch good movies with good people! Tell your friends! See you there!

7:00pm: Snacks (+ Bill’s pies) & social
7:30pm: Movie

The film title is typically added to the UUCR event calendar the week before the event and is also shared in our eBlast newsletter. The event is free, but snacks and donations are always appreciated.

Films on Friday welcomes all - please join us!

“Rental Family” - In modern-day Tokyo, an American actor (Brendan Fraser)
struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a
Japanese "rental family" agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers.
As he immerses himself in his clients’ worlds, he begins to form genuine
bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality. Confronting
the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging,
and the quiet beauty of human connection.
