On June 1, 2019, more than 5000 people came to Lake Anne Plaza to celebrate Reston Pride and show their support for the local LGBTQ+ community.

Conceived by Rev. Dr. Debra W. Haffner in 2017, the second Reston Pride was co-chaired by Rev. Debra, Leah Maier (a friend of UUCR), Tim Barwick from St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, and James Dean from United Christian Parish.  

UUCR can be very proud that it has now launched what in the words of Superintendent Cathy Hudgins will be “an annual festival for many years to come.”
